Digital Resources for the Classroom

A great digital resource is of course YouTube. YouTube is a digital resource that can be used in a classroom to show videos to the class to analyze, evaluate, and even create education videos to share with each other. I love YouTube for so many reasons. This multiplication mash up video is a great way to introduce students to multiplication. Students can listen to the song while working on multiplication which can help them to recall the facts. Students can then create their own video singing the song with classmates.

Flip, also known as Flipgrid, is a great way for students to collaborate with each other asynchronously thru videos, audio, and comments. This is a great digital resource for students to apply what they know and create short vides to show their understanding or even to just practice their presentation skills. This is also a great tool for bilingual students to practice for their TELPAS test. It can help them to practice for their speaking portion of their test and improve their vocabulary by having their peers give them feedback on how to better improve their audio.

Blooket is another great digital resource that can be used in the classroom. Blooket is an online review that allows students to have a friendly competition within each other all while they are learning and reviewing their material. This is a very engaging resource because students love to compete. The students and teacher get immediate feedback on how they did on the skill they are learning. Blooket can be used to evaluate students. One way I would use this in the classroom would be for math. I would have students play a game on multiplication and have them join a game with the facts we are learning for that week.

Flocabulary is a great way to introduce a new skills thru music. Flocabulary is a great digital resource that engages students because of the catchy songs that they incorporate. I would use this when introducing a new English Language Arts skill. As soon as the students listen to the song it catches their attention and they start to move to the beat and try to learn the lyrics. It also gives teachers the option to work at their own pace and assign it to the students and check for understanding.

Using Technology to Support Diverse Learners

Over the years, technology has become one of the most powerful tools that enable teachers to engage with students in so many different ways we never thought possible. It has become an essential part of teaching that helps with supporting our diverse learners, exceptional students, and our ESL students. Technology offers many ways to support and allows us to use different strategies that students can use to help make learning fun and engaging all while supporting the student needs. Using technology in the classroom allows for personalized learning platforms that allows the students to adapt to instructional content at their own pace and the support that they need for each student. It also allows for students to use different assistive technology tools that students can use to fully engage, participate and learn the content. This extension offers features like text-to-speech, highlighting, and voice notes. It assists students with reading difficulties, making digital text more accessible...
